Fallen out of love with one-to-one service?
I know your time is valuable. These show notes give you the gist of the episode, what is covered, any links or resources talked about in the show, and also gives you a few ways to listen, watch or digest this episode.
This episode’s topic, in a nutshell…
My guest in this episode is going to help you gain some clarity around the realities of shaping an offer for a client, and we are specifically going to talk about one-to-one offers, and park all other formats of service for purposes of this conversation.
We are not saying that you can only have ONE offer and that HAS to be a one-to-one service – what we are saying is: if you do enjoy, and prefer, one-to-one service…it’s good to focus on ONE offer, and get it right – before adding more offers to your table.
Now, I want you to listen openly to our full conversation (there are lots of twists and added value turns), and see what could be possible for you, if this type of service is your preference.
And to help me navigate this topic, I invited Janine Coombes, a Service Positioning Expert, to join me. Janine specifically helps small, service-based business owners like coaches and consultants – to position and sell their offers. (You can find out more about her in her detailed bio below.)
Highlights
In this episode we unpack:
- Why it’s important to simplify the way you work and sell your service (and NOT to try and do “ALL THE THINGS” for “ALL THE PEOPLE”)
- How can you narrow down on ONE offer to focus on? (How do you pick ONE…where do you start?)
- Pricing and its place in positioning your value
- The mindset around pricing (moving away from time or cost-based pricing, and closer towards value-based pricing).
- Is it really easier to sell something that is cheaper? (The answer is not what you think)
Honestly, if you are feeling burnt-out and feel like you are falling out of love with your clients or the work you’re doing…listen to this episode.
It may be what you need to reflect on why you’re feeling the way you do and give you a very quick pick-me-up to know how to correct the course (or at least know where to start).

In this episode Janine shared that she has a super, step-by-step resource to help you navigate this exercise of narrowing your focus and picking a service to work on.
It’s called the: “ULTIMATE GUIDE: To creating and selling 1:1 coaching and consulting services.” It’s a value packed blog post – you don’t even have to provide your email address (although you can also subscribe to Janine’s newsletter which is on the page as well.)
